I have learned substantial in the Intro to Radio/TV/Film course with professor Stephens. We mainly covered the basic fundamentals of film and television including shot composition, lighting, sound, and camera angles in the Bare Bones Camera Course for Film and Video book. I found the textbook to have a plethora of information that provided broad analyzation of all the interconnected parts of shooting. We also learned how to write a script and create proper storyboards. My eye for film has developed tremendously when it comes to the way I write and the way I visually see a scene. In retrospect this class has reassured me that the career path I choose is where I feel the most passion.

In class we took numerous quizzes that covered the course of specific chapters that focused on our target lessons. We created flip book that demonstrated the 24 frames per second concept which explained how a scene shot composition is evaluated. We also created production schedules and focused on elements of visual design. This consisted of basic composition, rule of thirds, lines of symmetry,180 line and continuity, we also learned the ten sounds that are contributed to film such as sound effects. We touched on f/stops and numerous camera principles and microphone sound pick up pattern. The course also touched on the Odessa steps which relate to editing techniques such as clean exit and entrance shot. Anything that has to do with the production of film was covered and each concept was evaluated in depth.

Overall I have learned scores of principles and concepts that have transformed my world. I true television and film connoisseur, I want my career path to be in this industry. Everything i’ve learned in this course has been the ultimate food of knowledge. I feel way more well versed on particular subjects, more professionally trained and the confidence has increased. Television and film is so intricate and the interconnected parts that make a film a film is so vast and abundant. There's so much more the learn and it has ultimately transformed the way I approach everything.
